Hello and welcome back to school and the start of 2009
This year in room 2 we have a mixture of fantastic year 4 & 5 students. They have already been working together well in a variety of co-operative tasks and I can see that we are going to have an awesome year together. To start the term off our inquiry is around the question ‘are we safe?’ If there are any experts on this question that you know of in the community please let me know.
Classroom Environment
The classroom is a class of self motivated learners who are in charge of their learning and time management. Students will have tasks that must be completed though out the week and tasks they choose to do. They will use a variety of tools to help them stay on task and focused during the day. Students are able to drink water during class time so make sure students have water bottles to keep them hydrated in the warm weather.

Snack attack is around 10:00 am every day and the students will need to have a healthy snack to eat at this time, any fruit, vegetables or other healthy choices may be eaten at this time.
Home
work this year is going to be goal specific and will be focusing on what individual students and parents identify as their needs. There will also be some whole class tasks that will be required to be completed. Homework will be given out on a Monday and will be handed in on a Friday. 
Library – We will be going to the library on a Tuesday afternoon so please try to get children to have their books with them to return on a Tuesday.
