The Sky Above and the Earth Below
Understandings:
- Earth is part of the Solar System within the vast system of the universe
-The Sun is the sourse of energy for life on earth
-People have always tried to explain what they see in space. New technologies have changed peoples' beliefs about space.
- Much of what happens on the surface of the eath is determined by what is happening deep inside the earth.
-Volcanic activity is the result of slow movement of the hot interior of the earth.
-Volcanic activity and earth quakes have shaped the New Zealand landscape.
I've really enjoyed learning about the solar system & did you know that it takes the Earth about 24hrs to spin around once & about 1yr for the earth to orbit the sun. Most of the Earths surface is covered by water & that it has one natural satellite which is the moon.
